Clear skin is a constant battle.
You try every product, every gimmick. Some work…kinda, but most don’t.
And every now and then one just makes things worse.
Are we all fighting a hopeless battle? Or are we just missing that one strategy that will win us the war?
I believe there is a way – a strategy for revealing beautiful clear skin that lasts.
In a moment, I’ll show it to you. But first, let’s see why all those other methods have failed you in the past:
The Commercial Skin Products that Leave You Disappointed
You’ve tried everything: salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, glycollic acid, sulfur…even accutane. No luck.
And then there’s the obvious advice:
- Wash your face – As if you haven’t already tried that.
- Get more sleep – Maybe once you have clear skin, you’ll sleep better
- Oily skin is genetic – so you’re supposed accept that it’s hopeless?
To find real answers to your bad skin, it all starts with knowing the real causes.
How to Fight the Causes of Bad Skin
Here’s how you get bad skin:
- First your hormones fall out of balance.
- That causes excess oil production by your skin.
- The excess oil becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.
- The bacteria irritates your skin, causing inflammation, and bad skin.
- Bad skin causes stress, which causes more bad skin.
That’s bad skin in a nutshell. Now let’s learn how to fix them ALL, one at a time, starting with the last one on the list…
1. Reduce Stress
It all starts with breaking the cycle. Stress aggravates bad skin. But stress reduction is a complicated lifelong process. And we want clear skin today.
So for now, let’s just take a simpler shortcut. An herb known as rhodiola has been well established to reduce cortisol levels in our body. Cortisol is also known as the stress hormone. Lower your cortisol levels, and your stress levels will follow.
Try taking them for a while as a dietary supplement and see if that helps you.
2. Kill Bad Bacteria, Introduce Friendly Bacteria
Usually a dermatologist will prescribe you antibiotics to kill those infections on your skin. Problem is, they kill indiscriminately, meaning they also kill the good bacteria in your gut that aid in digestion and keep you healthy.
Think healthy digestion is essential for maintaining healthy skin? How can it not be?
So here’s what you do…3 things:
- Take your medicine – Don’t ignore your doctor. That’s never a good idea. And anyways, you don’t have to abandon traditional medicine in order to embrace natural cures.
- Introduce friendly bacteria – Take a probiotics supplement help repopulate any of the friendly bacteria in your gut that may have been killed by the antibiotics.
- Kill more bad bacteria – As as a natural topical treatment, try applying coconut oil. The anti bacterial and anti fungal properties of coconut oil make it the perfect solution for clearing up infections without the unwanted side effects of antibiotics.
A word of warning though: Use caution when applying coconut oil to your face.
For some people it works miracles. For others, it has the potential to make the problem worse. It is an oil, after all. Do a little test spot first to see how your body reacts to it.
3. Reduce Inflammation
When doctors want to reduce inflammation they prescribe steroids. But that’s not a long term plan by any means.
If you want to reduce inflammation safely and naturally, you do it with food.
Various foods including leafy green vegetables, peppers, fish, nut, and spices are all known to curb inflammation.
How many of these have YOU been eating recently?
For extra protection against inflammation, take omega 3 supplements as well.
4. Get Those Hormones Under Control
This is the BIG one. Get your hormones under control, and everything else takes care of itself.
How do you do that? With diet.
In addition to the dietary recommendations for reducing inflammation, here are two more HUGE tips for you:
- Stop eating wheat.
- Stop eating dairy.
These two alone, may be enough to get you the results you want.
I’ve seen it work. My cousin, who has struggled with severe acne for a solid 10 years now, finally tried the Paleo Diet after months of my constant nagging. haha.
Two weeks later, my aunty called me to tell me that his acne was going away. Seriously. That quick.
If it can work for him, it can work for anyone.
Other things to Try
Two other things that I recommend trying: Sunlight, and Salt Water.
While I have no specific evidence that these two things are effective at curing acne, I do have my own experience.
What that experience tells me is that people who spend a “healthy” amount of time at the beach never seem to have bad skin.
When I say healthy, I’m not referring to those people who spend all year indoors, and then tan 12 hours a day for two weeks straight on a Mexican beach resort.
That’s not healthy. Don’t do that.
Instead, spend 15-20 minutes a day in the sun (1 hour) at the most. And if you leave near a beach, then jump in the water!
A Lifestyle that Promotes Clear Glowing Skin
Put all these things together and what do you get? It’s not a trick to fix bad skin. It’s not a gimmick. It’s not even a cure. It a lifestyle…
…A lifestyle absent from all those things that cause bad skin to begin with.
That oily, pimply, blotchy, and prematurely aging skin that so many people struggle with…it can’t be the way that our bodies were naturally designed. It CAN’T be.
It has to be something that we’re doing wrong to ourselves to make it so.
I firmly believe that clear skin comes from within. It shouldn’t be a daily struggle. It shouldn’t even be daily maintenance. You shouldn’t ever have to think about it.
And I firmly believe…with these few easy lifestyle tweaks I recommended, you won’t ever have to.
